The Lions Club of Mount Gambier sponsors this prestigious event each year in November. This festival is the largest country based brass band festival of its kind in Australia.
The Mount Gambier Brass Band Festival comprises of a morning massed street march, followed by participation in the city's annual Christmas Parade. In the afternoon the music contest is held in its entirety in the Helpmann Theatre. The contest will be held in graded divisions dependent on entry numbers. These selected divisions will be awarded a cash prize and trophy for the winning band and runner up in each grade....
